‘Grimm’ Spinoff With A Female Lead In Works At NBC
Grimm is eying a comeback. NBC is developing a spinoff from the supernatural series, which bowed out last year after six seasons. Like the original, the offshoot hails from Universal TV and Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s studio-based Hazy Mills Prods.

Written by Melissa Glenn (Marvel’s Iron Fist), the untitled spinoff, I hear, will center on a female Grimm. Per NBC, building off the mythology of the original series, the new show will feature returning fan favorites while also introducing new characters, new dangers and epic new mysteries. I hear no actors are currently attached but the idea is for the offshoot to feature some original cast members, regular or recurring.

Glenn executive produces with Hazy Mills’ Hayes and Milliner. Grimm co-creators/showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf will serve as consulting producers.

The original series followed Portland Homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), who discovered he is a Grimm,

All the ‘Halloween’ Movies, Ranked From Worst to Best (Photos)
When John Carpenter made the original “Halloween” in 1978, it was just another horror movie in a long line of horror movies. But the blockbuster success of this low-budget movie, about a masked killer murdering babysitters, made “Halloween” a cultural institution. The film spawned legions of imitators and codified the slasher genre as we still know it. And yet the official “Halloween” franchise has often struggled to meet the standard of the movie that inspired the craze.

Let’s look back at all of these classic (and not so classic) horror movies, and see how they stack up:

12. “Halloween: Resurrection” (2002)

The worst “Halloween” movie commits two cardinal sins. First, it nullifies the intense and satisfying finale of “Halloween H20” by striking Laurie Strode’s personal victory from the record; now, not only did she kill an innocent man instead of Michael Myers, but Myers destroys her instead. Second, and perhaps more laughably,

Fox Redeveloping Mary J. Blige-Produced Music Drama Based on Famous Choreographer

Fox is taking another pass at a series inspired by the life of famed choreographer and creative director Laurieann Gibson.

The one-hour series, previously entitled “8 Count,” will now be called “Move.” Silvio Horta has come onboard as a writer and executive producer, taking over from Erika Johnson. It is described as a music-fueled dramedy that follows an accomplished choreographer who, in order to redeem her damaged reputation in the cutthroat music/dance world, sets her sights on creating a flawless tour for a diva pop singer. To get the coveted gig, though, she’ll have to fend off competition from her arch rival,

Mary J Blige-Produced Choreographer Dramedy ‘Move’ in Development at Fox
Mary J. Blige and “Ugly Betty” co-creator Silvio Horta are bringing the story of dancing queen Laurieann Gibson to the small screen — or at least a story inspired by her life.

Fox has given a script plus penalty commitment to “Move,” a one-hour dramedy about an accomplished choreographer, not unlike Gibson.

Here’s the project’s official logline: Inspired by the life of famed choreographer and creative director Laurieann Gibson, “Move” is a music-fueled dramedy that follows an accomplished choreographer who, in order to redeem her damaged reputation in the cutthroat music/dance world, sets her sights on creating a flawless tour for a diva pop singer. To get the coveted gig, though, she’ll have to fend off competition from her arch rival…who happens to be her former assistant. At the same time, she must act as mother hen to her talented, but often difficult, team of dancers who depend on her.

Oscars Give More Power in Foreign Language Voting to La Members (Exclusive)

Oscars Give More Power in Foreign Language Voting to La Members (Exclusive)
The Academy has made more changes in voting in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Oscars, giving Los Angeles-based members who do most of the work in the first round of voting a bigger say in which films are nominated.

Larry Karaszewski, the first-year co-chair of the Foreign Language Film Award Executive Committee along with Diane Weyermann, announced the changes to voters on Monday night at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood, where the Academy kicked off this year’s foreign-language screenings with a double bill of Japan’s “Shoplifters” and Montenegro’s “Iskra.”

AMPAS had already changed this year’s process by eliminating the requirement that L.A.-based volunteers from all branches of the Academy, the so-called “general committee,” see a specific group of films in order to qualify to vote. And it reduced the number of films that qualifies a voter from 17 or 18 down to

Of course, it didn’t hurt that the already amped-up audience members got in on the group’s big announcement – that they’ll

‘The Conners': What ABC Expects From ‘Roseanne’ Spinoff’s Ratings

ABC’s “Roseanne” revival was a huge and instant hit in its March 2018 comeback, drawing an average of 18.2 million “live” viewers over the course of two episodes. Among adults 18-49, the demographic most beloved by those advertising on broadcast primetime, the hour averaged a 5.1 rating and 21 share. Beat that, “Conners.”

Or not.

“Roseanne” spinoff “The Conners” debuts Tuesday night at 8/7c on ABC, which is the same time slot its source material occupied. But the big question is, will Roseanne-less “Roseanne” keep up the spring’s monumental numbers? No, it will not. And that is the opinion of an ABC insider who spoke with TheWrap.

Arctic Monkeys Release Trippy Film Documenting ‘Tranquility’ LP Process

Earlier this year, the Arctic Monkeys released Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, a strange concept album set in a casino piano bar on the moon that was a serious left turn from the arena-rock of 2013’s Am. Fans curious about the recording process behind Tranquility are in luck: the band’s longtime film partner Ben Chappell (who has directed several of their videos) was at the French mansion where they crafted the songs, and today released a trippy short companion film to the album, Warp Speed Chic.

Hulu in Talks to Create a Smaller, More Affordable TV Bundle

A month after its live TV service hit 1 million subscribers, Hulu is considering whether to launch a more affordable, “skinnier TV bundle” that aims to attract consumers unwilling to pay $40 per month for an internet TV service. Hulu CEO Randy Freer detailed the plan in an interview with The Information.

To keep the bundle at a low cost, Freer wants to drop select live entertainment channels in favor of smaller bundles of live sports, news, and on-demand entertainment.

“We have to be able to evolve so we can provide the customers the news and sports and entertainment in a way that makes sense, bundled in a way that allows us to create packages that have a positive margin,” Freer said.
