Universal Pictures is in negotiations to option Anthony McCarten’s script with Michael De Luca Productions and Immersive Pictures producing. News first emerged in February that De Luca was collaborating with Yoko Ono for an untitled drama about Ono and her relationship with Lennon.
Vallee is attached to direct and edit. He will also rewrite the screenplay alongside McCarten. Ono will produce with De Luca, Immersive Pictures’ Josh Bratman, and McCarten. Vallee and his producing partner Nathan Ross will also produce through their production company, Crazyrose. Bruce Kaufman of Wood Hollow Pictures will executive produce.
Ono and Lennon met in 1966 at a London art gallery, where Ono was showing abstract art while the Beatles were four years into superstardom. Lennon asked Ono about her “Painting to Hammer a Nail In” piece, and if he could hammer a nail into the painting.

Kessler, the film is being directed by Andrew Levitas, and is being billed as a "real life David versus Goliath story," pitting Smith against a powerful corporation responsible for poisoning the people of Minamata, a Japanese fishing village, in 1971.
With the glory days of World War II far behind him, Smith has become a recluse, disconnected from society and his career....

“Through the arts, I have created a relationship with my son,” Jamaicanoproblem told TheWrap’s Steve Pond at a Q&A on Monday following a screening of his film, Ecuador’s entry into the Oscar foreign language film race. “Treasure doesn’t always mean gold. Treasure can be finding the unknown.”

“During the slave trade, some people thought it was Ok to treat human beings as property and less than animals,” Malik Russell, a spokesperson for the civil rights organization, told TheWrap on Tuesday. “Maybe in Megyn Kelly’s world, offensive acts and racism are Ok, but I assure you for individuals of color, blackface is always racist and never Ok.
“According to most studies on implicit bias, many think they are less racist than they really are — and regardless of whether Megyn’s bias is intentional or just implicit, its still wrong,” Russell continued. “As a national public figure, she has a responsibility to check herself – or get checked by those who are tired of racism and being disrespected by individuals who just don’t get it.
The film, due to shoot in April on the Greek island of Crete, re-teams the British actors, who starred as a couple in 2013’s “The Politician’s Husband,” a three-episode British miniseries.
“Quicksand” follows a British couple living out their dream in the Mediterranean. But their paradise comes to an abrupt end when their visiting son is tragically murdered by a local youth. The husband is offered a chance at revenge by a dangerous stranger who won’t take no for an answer, but the price of revenge is one more murder.

A deep, passionate kiss is shared by Viola Davis and Liam Neeson in the opening frames of “Widows,” immediately keying audiences into the fact that they’re not watching an ordinary crime thriller. This is a Steve McQueen crime thriller, by the director who won the Best Picture Oscar for “12 Years a Slave” and who also earned raves for his groundbreaking sex addiction drama “Shame,” starring Michael Fassbender.
“You will not see that,” Davis said of the intimate bedroom kiss between a black woman and white man depicted in the film. “I don’t care how much people say they’re committed to inclusivity — they’re not committed to that,” said the Oscar winner at a screening on the 20th Century Fox lot in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, attended by McQueen and other cast members.

Monday night’s episode featured a double shot of battles between talented young females, with the judges forced into choosing one but dropping the other, despite their better judgment. The sweet-singing pair of 13-year-old Reagan Strange and 16-year-old Emily Hough was a prime example, with the Team Adam Levine counterparts taking on Ed Sheeran’s sensitive “Photograph.”

“We are all such a tight-knit family on that show and everyone was so dedicated to making the best of ‘House of Cards.’ What that meant was, we gotta close this out. The “Megyn Kelly Today” host said earlier today that she didn’t see the big deal if a white person wanted to darken their skin to dress up as a black person on Halloween, or vice versa.
“What is racist?” she asked. “You get in trouble if you’re a white person who puts on blackface on Halloween or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. When I was a kid that was Ok as long as you were dressing up as a character.”
