‘Roseanne’ Spinoff ‘The Conners’ Ordered by ABC
Roseanne’ is returning, but without its namesake.

ABC has given a series order to “The Conners,” a spinoff starring original cast members John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman. Not part of the new series will be Roseanne Barr, who played the matriarch on the long running and recently revived — and more recently canceled — multi-camera comedy. Barr will, according to ABC, have no financial or creative involvement in the spinoff.

“The Conners” is slated to debut this fall and take over the 8 p.m. Tuesday time period that “Roseanne” had been slated to occupy until the show was abruptly canceled last month in response to a racist statement made on Twitter by Barr. Additional cast members and a premiere date will be announced at a later date.

Gilbert, Tom Werner, Bruce Helford, Dave Caplan, Bruce Rasmussen, and Tony Hernandez will serve as executive producers on the spinoff,

'Jurassic World 2' Roars into Domestic Theaters as 'Incredibles 2' Looks to Hold Strong

'Jurassic World 2' Roars into Domestic Theaters as 'Incredibles 2' Looks to Hold Strong
While it may not appear out of the ordinary, this weekend's release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and its anticipated $100+ million opening will mark only the second time ever that two different films have opened with over $100 million back-to-back at the box office.

The first and last time this happened was in 2007 when Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End opened with $114.7 million following Shrek the Third's $121.6 million opening the weekend prior. In fact, the rarity of what will take place this weekend doesn't end there as only eight times following a $100+ million performance at the weekend box office has a film not repeated at #1 the following weekend. Even more rare, two films have never brought in more than $100 million over the same weekend.

Should Incredibles 2 drop 45.26% or less this weekend we'll have yet another piece of history to discuss come Sunday morning.

After debuting internationally just over two weeks ago,

Another ‘Breaking Bad’ Character Is Coming to ‘Better Call Saul,’ Vince Gilligan Teases
Brace yourself, Albuquerque: Another “Breaking Bad” character is coming to Season 4 of “Better Call Saul,” creator Vince Gilligan says.

“There’s a very important character from the ‘Breaking Bad’ era that we’re going to meet this year,” Gilligan said during his show’s Masterclass panel, which was a part of the AMC Summit Wednesday in New York City.

He did not specify which character — but Gilligan believes fans will be pretty pleased overall when the AMC dramedy returns in early August.

“Season 4 is so good,” he said. “It gets darker, it gets richer. It’s still got funny in it, but on the Venn diagram of ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul,’ the overlap in the center is getting bigger and bigger.”

In a letter read on-air June 8 by Outnumbered host Sandra Smith, Krauthammer said he had undergone surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in his abdomen and that it “caused a cascade of secondary complications” for which he has been hospitalized since. Recent tests have revealed that the cancer had returned.

Colbert Rips Melania’s Jacket Choice: ‘This Is One Message She Did Not Steal From Michelle Obama’ (Video)
Donald Trump’s whole thing about separating immigrant families at the border is a topic that is here to stay despite his ambiguous executive order that may or may not end the practice, and on “The Late Show” Thursday night, Stephen Colbert recapped the latest weirdness: Melania Trump’s visit to one of those detainment centers where they’ve got children locked up.

“The story of the week has been Trump’s pro-baby-snatching agenda, and today it took another weird turn. Because to humanize these child detention centers, the administration sent their most high profile detainee, Melania Trump,” Colbert joked to open his monologue. “And as soon as she got there, Melania cut right to the big question.”

The Late Show” then played a clip of Melania asking: “How I can help to these children to reunite them with their families as quickly as possible?”

‘Sicario: Day of the Soldado’ to Be First U.S. Indie Title Released in Saudi Arabia

Lionsgate’s “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” is set to become the first U.S. indie title released in Saudi Arabia following the recent removal of the country’s religion-related ban on cinemas after 35 years.

The Mexico-set drug-trafficking thriller, a sequel to 2015’s “Sicario,” will bow on AMC screens in the Saudi capital of Riyadh next Thursday, one day before its scheduled U.S. release. Starring Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin, it is being distributed locally by Middle Eastern company Italia Film.

Italia Film previously handled the groundbreaking April 18 release in Saudi Arabia of Marvel’s “Black Panther” which marked the first commercial screening of a film in the kingdom since movie theaters were banned in the early 1980s because of adoption of ultraconservative religious standards. Lifting the ban is part of a drive by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to transform Saudi society and diversify its oil-driven economy.

Seth Meyers Compares Trump to Jr Smith: ‘You Have No Idea What’s Going On and You Think You’re Winning When You’re Not’
As has been the case every other night this week, Seth Meyers talked about the situation with Donald Trump’s policy to separate immigrant families at the border in a new “A Closer Look” segment Thursday night. But he also examined in the segment Trump’s rally in Duluth that happened Wednesday night — or rather, he took at at one specific Trump comment.

Republicans love to rail against the so-called ‘elites,’ despite the fact that their party controls all three branches of government. Or the fact they are the party of the money class. Or the fact that they elected a wealthy golf course-owning New York real estate magnate-turned-tv celebrity as president. It’s probably their most oft-repeated talking point. Liberals drink lattes and drive Priuses and Republicans are hard-working, blue-collar, getter-doners,” Meyers said toopen the segment.

“And yet, at a rally in Minnesota yesterday, Trump completely gave away the

‘Luke Cage’ Season 2 Refresher: What Happened to Misty Knight’s Arm?

(Note: This post contains spoilers for Netflix’s “The Defenders.”)

One of Luke Cage’s chief allies, Detective Misty Knight, enters Season 2 of “Luke Cage” very different than how she left Season 1. At the start of Season 2, Misty is missing an arm — but if you didn’t watch “The Defenders,” you might have missed how it happened.

Netflix’s “The Defenders” takes place between “Luke Cage” seasons 1 and 2; after “Daredevil” Season 2 and “Iron Fist” Season 1, but before “Jessica Jones” Season 2. For a brief period, it finds most of New York’s street-level superheroes teaming up to take down the operation of the evil ninja group known as the Hand.

What Can Actually Kill Luke Cage?

  • The Wrap
Of all the super people that make up Netflix’s Marvel mini-verse, Luke Cage is easily the least vulnerable of all of them. He’s super strong, like Jessica Jones and Danny Rand, but his defining physical trait is his impenetrable skin. You can’t shoot Luke Cage — the bullets just bounce right off him. But Luke is certainly not unkillable. So as we head into the second season of “Luke Cage,” it’s worth looking again at how a bad guy might be able to take Luke out.

We saw one particular vulnerability back in the first season of “Jessica Jones,” when Jessica was forced to blast Luke right in the face with a shotgun when he was mind controlled by Kilgrave. Though the shell bounced right off his skin, the whiplash caused his brain to slam against the inside of his skull, resulting in severe trauma that nearly killed him.

Trevor Noah Breaks Down Trump’s Awkward New Hand Gestures on ‘The Daily Show’ (Video)
On Thursday night’s “The Daily Show,” Trevor Noah took time to look more closely at some new hand gestures Trump used during a recent appearance at a political rally — particularly one rather onanistic-looking motion.

The bit began with a brief chat about Trump’s speech at a rally on Wednesday in Duluth, Minnesota.

“At this point, Trump’s rallies are like ‘Jurassic Park’ movies. Sure they’re predictable, but you still kind of want to see what the screaming, tiny-hand monster will do once he gets loose.”

But, Noah added: “Trump has clearly been practicing a whole bunch of new hand moves.”

Cue a supercut of Trump’s gestures from the rally: a weird squiggle motion, something that looks kind of like vogueing, a pointing wave, a scooping wave, a curious flying motion,
