Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune: Messiah’ Could Begin Filming This June!

Denis Villeneuve started working on the script for ‘Dune: Messiah’ back in 2023 and said in early 2024 that it was almost done, but he doesn’t want to rush it. He also mentioned that waiting a few years for Timothée Chalamet to age might be a good idea since ‘Dune Messiah’ takes place 12 years later.
Hans Zimmer, the film’s composer, has already started writing music for the third movie. In April 2024, it was reported that Villeneuve and Legendary officially began developing the film. Villeneuve has said this will be his last ‘Dune’ movie, but he hopes the story could continue with another director in the future.
Now, Deadline reports that the highly anticipated film could start production this year, earlier than the previously expected 2026.
Dune Messiah is the second book in the Dune series by Frank Herbert. It follows Paul Atreides, now Emperor, as he struggles with power, politics, and betrayal.
