Disney's Aladdin Pulls Off Magical $112M Holiday Box Office Debut

Disney's live-action adaptation of Aladdin easily took the number one spot over the four-day Memorial Day holiday weekend. The movie was only estimated to bring in around $80 million, but instead earned $112.7 million, proving there were a lot of people who were not as scared of Will Smith's Genie as they claimed to be on social media. Aladdin holds the record for the fifth-highest Memorial Day weekend total ever. Another Disney movie holds the record for the holiday weekend, which is 2007's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End with $139 million.

John Wick 3: Parabellum fell to number two this weekend with a four-day haul of $31 million.
