Avengers: Endgame To Pass Avatar At The Domestic Box Office

Thanks to the release of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, it’s expected that Avengers: Endgame will finally lose its place at the top of the domestic box office this weekend, but we somehow doubt that the bosses at Marvel Studios are losing much sleep over the matter. In fact, it’s now projected that the Avengers: Infinity War sequel will very soon top the North American haul of Avatar to become the all-time second highest grossing film domestically.

The Us and Canada total of James Cameron’s 2009 sci-fi sits at $760.5 million, though part of this figure comes from the movie’s reissue. In its initial run, Avatar took in $749.8 million, but either way, Endgame’s current total of $748.8 million suggests that the Russo Brothers’ latest feature is on the verge of taking second place. That being said, we wouldn’t bet on Endgame rising any further up the domestic ranking.
