Godzilla: King Of The Monsters Director Says Sequel is "Aliens to Gareth's Alien"

While I enjoyed director Gareth EdwardsGodzilla reboot, I’m so much more excited about director Michael Dougherty’s sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters. While Edwards treated his film more like Jaws, Dougherty is taking things to a much more epic level and we are going to see Godzilla face off with the likes of King Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan.

When comparing the sequel to the Edwards reboot, Dougherty explains that his film is more like James Cameron’s Aliens than Ridley Scott’s Alien. He told Cb:

"I hesitate to say it, but I would call it the 'Aliens' to Gareth's 'Alien.' So, it's a bit more of an ensemble thing, whereas the first movie was really more about Ford Body's character kind of weaving his way through that adventure and Monarch kind of was the backdrop for that. Here, Monarch was the focus.
