Perfect Patty? Patricia Clarkson could notch a flawless 3-for-3 Emmy record with ‘Sharp Objects’
Patricia Clarkson is the frontrunner to win the Best Limited Series/TV Movie Supporting Actress Emmy for “Sharp Objects” in our early odds, which would mark her third Emmy win overall. But more impressively, it would give Clarkson a perfect 3-for-3 record.

Clarkson converted her first two nominations into wins, both in the Best Drama Guest Actress category in 2002 and 2006 for “Six Feet Under,” on which she played Sarah O’Connor, Ruth’s (Frances Conroy) estranged sister. She is one of five people to have won that category twice, a record, alongside Shirley Knight, Margo Martindale, Amanda Plummer and Alfre Woodward. More notably, Clarkson and Martindale, who went back to back in 2015-16 for “The Americans,” are the only ones to do so for playing the same character on the same show.
