James Gunn Was Offered a Superman Movie Before Suicide Squad 2

According to a new report, James Gunn was offered Superman by Warner Bros. before settling on The Suicide Squad.

James Gunn's Superman? James Gunn's Hawkman? Can you picture it? We can't either, but a new report from THR reveals that the director could have chosen a different path during negotiations with Warner Bros. before he settled on making a new Suicide Squad movie as his next project.

When Warner Bros. began "courting" Gunn after he was fired from Guardians of the Galaxy 3 over a series of unfortunate tweets posted over a decade ago, the studio apparently offered him several DC characters to work on, including Superman. However, after researching the comics, Gunn decided that the Man of Steel just wasn't for him.

The former Disney golden boy, who started off at Troma Entertainment before penning Scooby-Doo in 2002, is now handling writing and directing duties on The Suicide Squad,
