Lindsay Lohan Is Still Down To Play Ariel In The Little Mermaid Remake

Disney’s recent trend of remaking their most cherished animated works is showing no sign of slowing down, and with Mary Poppins Returns director Rob Marshall set to reimagine The Little Mermaid, a few actresses have been all too happy to throw their hat in the ring for the lead role of Ariel.

Among the first to express an interest was Lindsay Lohan, who took to Instagram back in 2017 to declare that she “will sing again” as the mermaid princess. And in a recent interview with variety, the Mean Girls star suggested that her enthusiasm for the gig hasn’t flagged, explaining that she’s a longtime fan of the 1989 original.

The Little Mermaid is my favorite movie since I was a kid,” Lohan said. “Whenever I put that move on, it makes me happy. I’m like, ‘Everybody, stop. Watch this movie.’”
