Amy Pascal wants Spider-Man to stay in the McU after Spider-Man: Far From Home

A few years back, when Sony was planning to launch a whole shared universe around its Amazing Spider-Man reboot, the idea of the web-slinger mixing it with Iron Man and company as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe seemed little more than a pipe dream.

However, as we all know, Sony scrapped its plans following the negative reaction to The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with the studio striking up a deal with Marvel Studios to introduce Spidey into the McU in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.

Although specifics on the deal between Sony and Marvel were never officially revealed, it has been widely reported (but not confirmed) that the agreement spans five appearances, which if true, means that it is set to expire next year following the release of Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

This of course raises questions/fears about Spider-Man’s status post-Far From Home, compounded
