Will ‘Homecoming’ be Amazon’s first Best Drama Series nominee at Golden Globes?

The Golden Globe Awards has been in a love affair with Amazon the past four years, handing out wins and nominations to its series and stars — all but one of which have been on the comedy/musical side. Amazon has yet to field Best Drama Series Golden Globe nominee, but that could finally change this year with the streaming service’s new half-hour psychological thriller “Homecoming.”

Based on the Gimlet Media podcast of the same name, “Homecoming” is directed by Sam Esmail (“Mr.Robot”) and written by Micah Bloomberg and Eli Horowitz. The series follows Heidi Bergman (Julia Roberts), a counselor at Homecoming, a facility that helps soldiers adjust back to civilian life, who interviews the soldiers upon return from combat.
