Diablo Cody Signs On To Write A TV Reboot Of Popular ’70s Sitcom ‘Alice’

Lately, the news about reboots and remakes seems to focus on properties created within the last decade. However, according to Variety, Fox has teamed up with acclaimed screenwriter Diablo Cody for a new remake of a popular TV series from 40 years ago. And given the subject matter, it looks like now seems like the perfect time to revisit “Alice.”

Alice,” itself a TV spin-off taken from Martin Scorsese‘s 1974 film “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” starring Ellen Burstyn and Kris Kristofferson, tells the story of a Long Island housewife, Alice, that leaves her horrible husband and hits the road to find a life of her own.
