Judith Light, nominated for an Emmy this year, has revealed how she hid her emotions on "American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace" and how she reacted to being compared to a dog on "Broad City."
The actress, nominated for her performance as Marilyn Miglin in the "The Assassination of Gianni Versace," said of the crime drama: "When you’re playing a person who does not outwardly show their emotion, the challenge is in the holding it together ... to allow things to happen in the face and the body — whatever the feeling was — but not to show it."
Speaking to IMDb, Light also talked about the similarities of two different shows about family in which she starred: "Who's the Boss" and "Transparent."
"What’s happened with 'Who’s the Boss' was that there had not been a show on television that really showed where a woman could have her own life, her own job, own an advertising agency, and have someone at home, a man taking care of her," Light said.
"And then, with 'Transparent,' same thing. This is a new kind of family. Do you become the authentic person you believe yourself to be? Does your family stay with you? Those are fascinating questions to discuss."
Light also revealed how she felt about having an Afghan dog named after her in Comedy Central's "Broad City."
"I loved it! Somebody came to me and said: 'Do you know about Judith Light the dog?' They showed me the pictures, and I was hysterical. I felt iconic, I have to say. And the dog looks like me! It’s the blond and the eyes and the nose."
