"Lucifer" Star Aimee Garcia Joins 'The Addams Family'

Aimee Garcia, star of the recently canceled and resurrected "Lucifer," has been cast in the animated reboot of 'The Addams Family.'

Garcia, who played LAPD forensic scientist Ella Lopez throughout Seasons 2 and 3 of "Lucifer," will voice the as-yet-unknown character of Denise, according to sources close to the production.

In addition to "Lucifer," which was canceled by Fox in May but picked up by Netflix in June for a fourth season, Garcia is also known for playing Jamie Batista in the final three seasons of "Dexter."

The actress is one of the first names to be added to the cast beyond the core family members that includes Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron as Gomez and Morticia Addams; Chloë Grace Moretz and "Stranger Things" star Finn Wolfhard as siblings Wednesday and Pugsley; Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester; and Bette Midler as Grandmama.

The animated feature will introduce a new villain, reality TV makeover host Margaux Needler, who will be voiced by Oscar-winner Allison Janney.

'Sausage Party' co-directors Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan are co-directing 'The Addams Family,' which is set for release by MGM on Oct. 11, 2019.
