Simpson” averaged 8.3 million total viewers, including 4.2 million adults 18-49 (a 3.3 national rating). The premiere had already established a same-day network viewership record for a drama, with 5.11 million people watching last Wednesday, but the L+3 number puts it ahead of comedy “Anger Management,” which had been the most-watched FX series opener in same-day numbers (5.6 million).
