Sony Pictures Television is heading south to Argentina to make a local version of the sitcom “Mad About You.”
Argentina’s leading broadcaster Telefe will adapt 60 episodes of the series titled Loco Por Vos” with production set to kick off in early March.
Spt has adapted several sitcoms for Argentina with Telefe including “Casados con Hijos” (“Married…with Children”), “La Ninera” (“The Nanny”), “Hechizada” (“Bewitched”) and “Quien es el Jefe” (“Who’s the Boss”).
Move follows the successful adaptation of “Mad About You” in China, know locally as “Xin Hun Gong Yu” (“Wedding Apartment”), which has amassed 161 million views on Ad-based Video on Demand (Avod) platform Youku in its first three weeks. The sitcom also airs on satellite channel Dragon TV where it continues to dominate its timeslot among all national satellite channels.
