NBC has canceled Neil Patrick Harris‘ live variety show “Best Time Ever,” TheWrap has learned. The series, adapted from the U.K.’s “Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway” featured Harris in his first major television role following the end of CBS comedy “How I Met Your Mother.” On “Best Time Ever,” Harris served as master of ceremonies for a show featuring a variety of stunts and celebrity cameos. The live show, designed to draw viewers away from time shifting and toward the real-time telecast, drew a 1.9 Nielsen live-plus-same day rating among adults 18-49 for it Sept. 15 premiere following the season finale.
