'Allan Quatermain' Reboot Targets Chris Hemsworth
With his time as one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe possibly winding down, Chris Hemsworth may have found a new franchise to star in. The Tracking Board reports that the actor is circling a new spec script entitled Allan Quatermain, written by up and coming scribe Barnett Brettler. Sony Pictures is eyeing the script, which is being considered to start a new franchise.

No story details have been given thus far, but the Allan Quartermain character has been seen on the big screen several times. The beloved character first appeared in H. Rider Haggard's 1885 novel King Solomon's Mines, which spawned 13 sequels. On the big screen, the character has been played by Richard Chamberlain in the 1985 adaptation of King Solomon's Mines, and its 1986 sequel Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold.
