Homefront, God Bless the Child, Pangea and Take Me to the River were winners at the Us Works in Progress co-production forum of the fifth American Film Festival (Oct 21-26) in Wrocław, Poland.
The Homefront, which tells the story of a family’s struggles years into an invasion of the United States, took the forum’s main prize.
Directors Fidel Ruiz-Healy and Tyler Walker will receive colour correction by Chimney Poland, sound mix by Alvernia (worth up to $10,000 each), and an allowance of 3000 Pln ($900) for their flights to Warsaw (from Film Commission Poland).
God Bless the Child follows a 13-year old who must take care of her four younger brothers.
Directors Robert Machoian, Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck and producer Robert John Thomas were at the festival and receive creative sound design by Soundflower and promotion through the Europa Distribution network.
