We've already seen that Jaume Balagueró's new entry into the [Rec] franchise pretty much does away with both the third movie and the found footage aesthetic, with the story returning to Ángela and picking up after the events that unfolded in [Rec] 2.
This time, the story puts Ángela on an oil rig where she's being monitored and tested on by a group of scientists. It's not clear what they're looking for, probably an answer as to how she's managed to survive the events of the previous two movies. Things go wrong, a zombie nightmare breaks out and Ángela appears to be the only one who can stop it.
