X-Men: Days of Future Past crosses $700 million, X-Men franchise hits $3 billion overall

With this year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past setting a series high haul of $702.2 million (and counting) by close of play on Tuesday, Fox’s mutant superhero franchise has now amassed $3.003 billion at the global box office, with $1.3 billion in domestic ticket sales and $1.7 billion internationally. The Bryan Singer-directed Days of Future Past is also on the verge of overtaking rival superhero flicks The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ($703.2 million) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($710.7 million), which would make it the highest grossing movie of the year so far.
