First rumoured back in April 2013, it seems that the television spin-off to horror franchise Scream will happen. The show which will air on MTV has begun the initial round of casting ahead of filming of a pilot.
Scream was a film seen by many as the film which rejuvenated the horror genre which at the tail end of the nineties had found itself stagnating in straight-to-video hell. Filled with references to the classics that had come before, the film which was written by Kevin Williamson and directed by horror legend Wes Craven was exactly the fresh air that everyone was in need of. The three sequels that followed didn’t live up tp the spark created by the first but maybe the small screen can succeed where the big screen failed.
