Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will all return for the latest film in the Star Wars series, according to the long-running space saga's creator George Lucas.
Lucas, who sold Star Wars to Disney for $4.05bn in October, revealed in an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek that Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia will all appear in the forthcoming Jj Abrams-directed Episode VII. The news follows confirmation from Fisher earlier this week – later hurriedly denied as a "joke" by her rep – that she will return to the series. Lucas said the three actors were on board prior to the sale of LucasFilm, which owns Star Wars, to Disney.
"We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison – or were pretty much in the final stages of negotiation," Lucas said.
