Oscar producer Brett Ratner is planning to tell the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences that he wants Eddie Murphy to host the 84th Oscars.
While no deal has been made, Deadline is reporting that Eddie Murphy is "showing interest".
Eddie Murphy is starring in Brett Ratner's Tower Heist action comedy starring opposite Ben Stiller, which comes to theaters in November, so the two are working together.
Billy Crystal has also expressed interest in hosting again, and will most likely be incorporated into the show in some way.
