“A first draft of ‘Baby Driver 2 exists,” he told Empire in a interview. Wright added that the film will introduce new characters following the deaths of many of the characters in the original and it “takes the story further.”

In a previous interview with Empire back in July 2017, Wright said he was urged to write a sequel to his film and felt there was potential by recognizing that by the end of the movie, “Baby has got to a new place.”

“Most sequels you have to contrive something so they go back to square one,

‘Holmes & Watson’ and ‘Gotti’ Lead 2019 Razzie Nominations for Worst Picture
If their dismal reviews wasn’t punishment enough, for the 39th year, the Razzie Awards seek to recognize the achievements of the worst movies of the year. And for 2019’s crop of nominees, John Travolta’s “Gotti” and Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s “Holmes & Watson” both received the “honor” of being nominated for Worst Picture of 2018.

Melissa McCarthy might be nominated for an Oscar on Tuesday morning, but on Monday morning, she scored a nomination for Worst Actress for both “The Happytime Murders” and “Life of the Party,” and the former also landed among the five Worst Picture nominees. The box office bomb “Robin Hood” and Helen Mirren’s “Winchester” rounded out the nominees.

Even the first family found a way into the nominees, with Donald Trump and Melania Trump both getting nominated for portraying themselves in the documentary “Fahrenheit 11/9” from Michael Moore. And unlike the Oscars,

‘Captain Marvel’ Lands Day-and-Date China Release

Marvel Studios’ hotly anticipated blockbuster “Captain Marvel” will hit Chinese theaters on the same day as it debuts in North America. The Brie Larson-starring picture will release on March 8, 2019, which is also International Women’s Day.

Written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, the film tells the story of Carol Danvers, a former fighter pilot who joins an elite military team called Starforce and becomes a hero as Earth is caught between two warring alien worlds. Set in 1995, it also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, and Djimon Hounsou, among others.

Australia Box Office Recovers, Grows 3.8% in 2018

Gross theatrical box office in Australia grew by 3.6% in 2018, to $890 million (A$1.25 billion). The score was propelled by a rebound in the performance of the top local films.

Data from the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia published Tuesday showed aggregate cinema revenues recovering after a dip in 2017. While the 2018 nationwide score is the second highest on record, recent years are in a tight range, with 2015-2018 representing a plateau.

Australian-made films increased their share of the market, from 4.1% in 2017, to 4.5% in 2018. Their combined A$57.4 million (Us$41 million) is the third highest total on record. But data showed that just two titles – “Peter Rabbit” with A$26.7 million (Us$19.1 million) and Ladies in Black” with A$12 million (Us$8.58 million) – accounted for 70% of that. Some 39 out of the 61 Australian films released last year achieved less than A$100,000, earlier Mpdaa data shows.

The Mpdaa report showed that Australian cinemas are having to work harder to stand still.

How did the hosting job come about?

Well I first heard them say, “Will you be our ho…?” and I was like, ‘Yeah, I can be your ho!” But then it turns out they actually said “host.” And I was like, “Oh okay, well I could do that, too.”
