Doom Reboot Reportedly Has A Director And Lead

Doom Reboot Reportedly Has A Director And Lead
The world just learned of the existence of a Doom reboot just a handful of days ago, and now Dread Central has an alleged scoop from some unnamed sources. The film will be directed by Tony Giglio (Timber Falls, S.W.A.T. Under Siege) and that Once Upon A Time actress Amy Manson is set to play the film's lead.

It's also been revealed the project is being helmed by Universal's non-film division Universal 1440 Entertainment, which appears to mean the project is going straight to DVD or a streaming platform. That makes sense, and would certainly explain why we've heard next to nothing about it until now. Are you more, or less excited for this film now that you've read all this?

Can 'Avengers: Infinity War' Deliver a Record Opening Weekend?

Can 'Avengers: Infinity War' Deliver a Record Opening Weekend?
Following the record-breaking, $207.4 million opening for The Avengers in May of 2012, it took three years for another film to top the $200 million mark when Jurassic World debuted with $208.8 million in June 2015. Later that year Star Wars: The Force Awakens would go on to deliver the largest opening weekend ever, coming just shy of $250 million, en route to a domestic run topping $936 million. Since then, two more films have topped the $200 million mark over the course of their opening weekend in the recent releases of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Black Panther, and with the release of Avengers: Infinity War this weekend, it isn't so much a question of whether it will be the third film in the last five months to open over $200 million, but can it threaten Force Awakens's all-time record? Debuting in over 4,470 locations, Avengers: Infinity War will be the widest debut for a film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever,

Playback: Ed Harris on ‘Kodachrome,’ ‘Westworld’ and 35 Years of ‘The Right Stuff’
Welcome to “Playback,” a Variety / iHeartRadio podcast bringing you exclusive conversations with the talents behind many of today’s hottest films.

Oscar-nominated actor Ed Harris stars in the new film “Kodachrome,” which hit Netflix last week after being acquired following a Toronto Film Festival bow in September. Alongside co-star Jason Sudeikis, Harris crafts a moving portrait of a professional photographer committed (to a fault) to his work. It’s built on a familiar father-son-reconciliation dynamic, but for Harris, the way into keeping those tropes fresh was simply playing it as honestly as he could.

Listen to this week’s episode of “Playback” below. New episodes air every Thursday.

“I didn’t have any reference point of anything similar myself,” Harris says. “I’m sure I’ve seen something similar along the way, but to me, you get a script and that’s your
