Ben Affleck Explains Why He’s Done Playing Batman: ‘I Couldn’t Crack It’
Ben Affleck is hanging up his cape and saying goodbye to Batman.

In an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday, the actor explained why he will not be returning as the Caped Crusader in the 2021 film “The Batman,” to be written and directed by Matt Reeves. Affleck is retiring from the role after playing Bruce Wayne in only three movies: “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Suicide Squad,” and “Justice League.”

“I tried to direct a version of it and worked with a really good screenwriter, but just couldn’t come up with a version, I couldn’t crack it,” Affleck told Kimmel. “So I thought it was time to let someone else take a shot at it. They got some really good people, so I’m excited.”

Affleck also tweeted about the decision to leave the film he was originally slated to direct and star in on Jan. 30. “Excited

How Happy Death Day 2U Pulled Off That Wild (and Hilarious) Skydiving Death
Warning: Mild spoilers for Happy Death Day 2U ahead.

If you're not aware, Happy Death Day 2U has finally arrived to deliver more laughs and campy deaths than ever before. In the burgeoning franchise's second go-round, there are all sorts of twists and turns that will have you creeping toward the edge of your seat. And perhaps one of the best (and most fun) twists is a montage of bonkers, over-the-top deaths that range from jumping into a wood chipper, dropping a live hair dryer into a bathtub, and ramming a car into an electrical plant. But the most ridiculous death of all comes when Tree skydives out of an airplane . . . in a bikini.

During our recent interview with Jessica Rothe, the film's star talked all about the many mechanics that went into that one spectacular death. When it came to that epic free fall out of the plane, Rothe

Andy Cohen Fires Back at "Judgy as F--k" Critics After Dog Destroys His Son's Toy

Andy Cohen Fires Back at
Andy Cohen is learning to deal with the most annoying part of parenting: People who have opinions about it. Less than two weeks ago, the 50-year-old Watch What Happens Live host welcomed his first child, son Benjamin Allen Cohen, via surrogate. On Friday, he revealed on his Instagram Story that his dog Wacha destroyed the baby's stuffed Torah, a gift from a rabbi. He posted videos of him comically scolding his pet. He later said in a selfie video, "Okay, flooded with DMs from people saying I've got a big problem on my hands, Wacha's jealous of my son." "Wacha didn't know the Torah toy—we're talking about a Torah toy—belonged to the baby," he...

Before You Watch Amazon's Lorena Bobbitt Series, Brush Up on the Unbelievable True Story

  • Popsugar
Amazon's new documentary series Lorena is exactly as described in the title: a four-part documentary miniseries focused on Lorena Bobbitt, the woman at the center of the 1990s criminal case that simultaneously brought attention to domestic violence and became one of the most inappropriate true crime punchlines ever. Although the case of John and Lorena Bobbitt has a considerable pop culture legacy, the story itself is even wilder.

The Crime

The Bobbitts came to the attention of the public on June 23, 1993. Following a domestic dispute, Lorena used a knife to cut off John's penis, drove away and threw it in a field, and eventually called 911. Although the crime that gained the most infamy was that act of castration, it wasn't the only crime committed that night, as a 1994 report from The New York Times explains.

Soon after their wedding in 1989, the Bobbitts' marriage reportedly began to crumble. According to

Jessica Rothe and Her "Badass, B*tchy, Messy" Journey in Happy Death Day 2U

Jessica Rothe and Her
Back in late 2017, Happy Death Day stormed into theaters with its fresh and thrilling take on a well-worn story device: one person living the same day over and over again, à la 1993's Groundhog Day. Not long after the film's release, we were delighted to learn that, like Tree, we'd be remaining in this strange universe. Writer-director Christopher Landon already had an idea for a sequel by the time he finished the first film, and shortly thereafter, he was given the green light. Even though it feels like the blink of an eye, Happy Death Day 2U is about to hit theaters. And luckily, I had the chance to sit down and speak with the big star, Jessica Rothe.

While chatting with Rothe about the film, she presented more as the fully realized Tree, who has been through some serious sh*t and is kind, gracious, and open-hearted because of it.

PEN15: You're Not Crazy, Those Middle Schoolers Are in Their 30s

  • Popsugar
The new Hulu teen comedy PEN15 is getting plenty of praise for depicting its cast of young teenagers, mostly in middle school, as the complicated people they tend to be in real life. For the most part, the cast of young characters is played by actors who are actually teenagers - with two notable exceptions. For the characters of Maya and Anna, the two best friends at the heart of the show, creators Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle portray their tweenaged avatars, inspired by their real teenage years and the struggles they faced at that age.

Erskine and Konkle are both 31 years old - an age that's a little too old, even in Hollywood, to be playing young teens. And although they're styled in middle-school-appropriate ways, the show makes absolutely no effort to conceal the actresses' ages; in fact, their adulthood is a key part of the show's quirky concept.

Taraji P. Henson Isn't Taking a Penny Less Than She Deserves: "Honey, a Zero Is Missing"

Taraji P. Henson Isn't Taking a Penny Less Than She Deserves:
The gender pay gap is excruciatingly unfair to women of color, and it's an unfortunate hurdle that affects even those at the top of their professions, including women in Hollywood. Taraji P. Henson - who has been in the game for over two decades - knows the struggle well and opened up about her experiences with pay negotiations in Net-a-Porter's digital magazine, The Edit. The Empire star's quotes about salary negotiations and no longer accepting less than her worth have vision-board potential. Seriously, they're that real.

"'Honey, a zero is missing. Tell them to go find it then call me back.'"

Of the pay discrepancy she faced while working on 2008's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Taraji was paid just $500,000 for her role, while costars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett reportedly made tens of millions - Taraji talked about having to "bite that bullet" and use it

The Way The Bachelor Handled Caelynn's Story Is Just the Latest Example of a Disturbing Trend
When you get down to it, The Bachelor hasn't changed much from the very first season. The show follows a man as he dates about two dozen women. The dates are extravagant, the drama is over-the-top, and the tears are flowing. That being said, longtime watchers of the show may have noticed gradual changes over the years. One in particular sticks out and has been leaving me with an unsettled feeling: the show has a way of using tragic stories as currency. Having a heartbreaking story to share seems to have become a positive on the casting side, as if it gives the producers something to capitalize on.

Before I get into it, this is in no way criticizing the men and women who have shown their bravery by sharing their stories on national television. This is to point out the way production makes having a tragic story a mere check on a Bachelor résumé.

So, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston Actually First Reconnected 3 Years Ago
To say that people were shocked to see Brad Pitt at Jennifer Aniston's 50th birthday bash over the weekend is an understatement. However, it seems the famous exes - who were married from 2000 to 2005 - have reconnected following their respective divorces; Brad and Angelina Jolie announced their separation in September 2016, while Jen split from Justin Theroux in February 2018. "Brad wanted to support and celebrate Jen by attending her birthday party," Us Weekly reported.

According to the publication, the death of Jen's mom, Nancy Dow, in May 2016 is what first brought Brad and Jen back together. "Brad contacted Jen after her mom died, and she was touched that he knew what a difficult time it was," a source said. Brad also reportedly reached out to Jen following her split from Justin.

Still, don't hold out hope for a romantic reunion. Brad is still in the "ongoing process to work through
