Jussie Smollett Removed From Final ‘Empire’ Season 5 Episodes Following Arrest
Jussie Smollett has been removed from the final Season 5 episodes of the Fox series “Empire” in the wake of his arrest Thursday morning.

“The events of the past few weeks have been incredibly emotional for all of us” said series executives Lee Daniels, Danny Strong, Brett Mahoney, Brian Grazer, Sanaa Hamri, Francie Calfo and Dennis Hammer. “Jussie has been an important member of our ‘Empire’ family for the past five years and we care about him deeply. While these allegations are very disturbing, we are placing our trust in the legal system as the process plays out. We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have decided to remove the role of ‘Jamal’ from the final two episodes of the season.”

Fox had previously issued multiple statements in support of Smollett,

Jussie Smollett Returns To ‘Empire’ Set After Bail Hearing
Jussie Smollett, the Empire star who was arrested Thursday on a felony charge in the wake of allegedly planning a January attack on himself, went directly to the Fox series’ Chicago set after his bail hearing this afternoon, Deadline has confirmed.

Smollett was released on $100,000 bail and had his passport revoked during the court appearance. His defense lawyers insisted during the hearing that Smollett needed to get back to work on Empire, which was continuing production today.

What he will do there — today, or going forward — remains unclear. Smollett’s upcoming scenes on Empire were reduced or cut amid the investigation, so it’s not clear if he will get back in front of the camera anytime soon. Producer 20th Century Fox TV and Fox Entertainment issued a statement today saying “We understand the seriousness of this matter and we respect the legal process. We are evaluating the situation and we are considering our options.

Best actor, actress, and director are important categories, but most of us keep our eyes fixed on the biggest prize: best picture. The Details About Steve Irwin's Tragic Death Will Still Make You Uneasy
Steve Irwin passed away on Sept. 4, 2006, and the details surrounding his death are still incredibly distressing. The Crocodile Hunter was only 44 years old when he was fatally stabbed by a stingray in a freak accident. While filming an underwater documentary called Ocean's Deadliest at Batt Reef, near Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia, the famed television personality and his cameraman Justin Lyons came face to face with an eight-foot-wide stingray when they went snorkeling in shallow waters to obtain footage for his daughter's children's program Bindi the Jungle Girl. After a few takes, the two decided to go back in the water for "one last shot" of Steve standing behind the stingray as it swam back into the ocean.

Post Malone and Swae Lee's "Sunflower" Wasn't Supposed to Be on Into the Spider-Verse's Soundtrack

Post Malone and Swae Lee's
You want to know how I knew the dudes who live in the apartment above me had seen Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse? Because shortly after the Oscar nominated-film's release back in December, they started blasting Post Malone and Swae Lee's "Sunflower." Nonstop. (For Day's On End.) Even though I've been permanently scarred by the opening "Ayy, ayy, ayy, ayys," I have to admit that it's the perfect track to introduce us to the movie's lovable protagonist, Miles Morales (Shameik Moore).

After a lengthy montage about Peter Parker, voiced by Hollywood's best Chris, the movie cuts to young Miles hanging out in his bedroom with headphones on, stumbling over the lyrics to "Sunflower" as he draws and makes stickers at his desk. It's one of many excellent songs on the soundtrack, but as writers Rodney Rothman and Phil Lord recently revealed to Vulture, "Sunflower" was actually their second choice.

The Haunting of Hill House Has Been Renewed For Season 2 on Netflix, but There's a Catch

  • Popsugar
Netflix has really cemented itself as a home of horror masterpieces lately. Between its large collection of classic horror and thriller movies, as well as original films like Hush, The Ritual, and Gerald's Game, the streaming platform never runs out of terrifying options. Of course, none of the aforementioned films are as scary as Netflix's horror TV drama The Haunting of Hill House, which has officially been picked up for a second season. However, there is a catch.

Given how nicely things get wrapped up at the end of the first season, many fans of the critically acclaimed series were left wondering if a second season would ever happen, even thought it was clear the show was a massive hit. Fortunately, Netflix has just inked a massive deal with showrunner Mike Flanagan and his longtime partner Trevor Macy, which sources told The Hollywood Reporter is "a five- or six-year pact

The Hilarious New Fleabag Trailer Confirms Season 2 Was Worth the Wait

#Fleabag series two returns to BBC Three on March 4th. pic.twitter.com/pjllgsNdSe

- BBC Three (@bbcthree) February 21, 2019

It's been three years - count 'em, Three - since the first season of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's hilarious, wonderful, heartbreaking, and deranged series, Fleabag, and now we've finally caught a glimpse of what's to come in season two.

In the first trailer, we see the Solo actress's character going to therapy to deal with her many problems (she tells the therapist she uses sex to fill "the screaming void" inside her "empty heart"), getting the hots for a handsome priest (Sherlock's Andrew Scott), and once again dealing with her rude-as-hell godmother (played perfectly by Oscar nominee Olivia Colman). So, in other words, it looks like Fleabag is going to be even stronger the second time around.

The show will air on BBC Three in the UK on March 14, and begin streaming

Pink's Brit Awards Performance Was So Electric, I'm Surprised London Didn't Have a Power Surge
Pink gets sh*t done. Wrong her? She'll slash your tires. Ask her to perform? She'll give you an epic medley with energy that could cause a power surge. Case in point: the 39-year-old singer's incredible performance at the 2019 Brit Awards in London on Feb. 20. In addition to accepting the show's outstanding contribution to music award, Pink served up a medley of her greatest hits that left me sweating.

She started off her mashup with a newly released single, "Walk Me Home," before descending to the stage on an aerial hoop, singing "Just Like Fire." She proceeded to belt "Just Give Me a Reason" with Bastille's Dan Smith before dancing in the pouring rain while continuing to sing "Try." Pink then threw on a newspaper-print coat and wowed the audience with a powerful final number, "What About Us." You may experience chills after watching this medley, and I wouldn't blame you one bit.

When Will Fantastic Beasts 3 Hit Theaters? Here's Why You'll Likely Have to Wait Until 2021
The third installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise doesn't have a title yet, but its release date has been revealed. Sadly for fans of the J.K. Rowling universe, it's not good news.

Back in 2014, Warner Bros. announced its planned release dates for the studio's upcoming movie slate, two of which were described as "Untitled WB Event" films. It didn't take long for fans to put together that the mysterious titles - which were set for a Nov. 16, 2018 release and Nov. 20, 2020 release, respectively - were the second and third installments in the Fantastic Beasts series. The second film, The Crimes of Grindelwald, indeed came out last year on Nov. 16, but it seems the initial release date for the as-yet-untitled third movie has been pushed back from Nov. 20, 2020, according to Hypable.
