The Heartwarming Reason Dove Cameron Changed Her Name When She Started Acting

The Heartwarming Reason Dove Cameron Changed Her Name When She Started Acting
Disney Channel fans are probably already familiar with Dove Cameron's name. The 23-year-old actress and singer first got her start playing twins on Liv and Maddie, and Mal in the Disney Channel original movie Descendants. Since then, she has gone on to have roles on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., in Netflix's Dumplin', and even off-Broadway as Cher in Clueless.

While her name is certainly becoming more recognizable in the industry, what you might not know is that her birth name isn't actually Dove. The actress was born Chloe Celeste Hosterman, but decided to legally change it when she got into acting. She explained the heartbreaking backstory on social media, saying that "Dove" was actually a nickname her dad, Philip Hosterman, used to call her.

"My father passed away a few years ago, right around the time I started acting," she explained in an Instagram post in 2014. "So, I

Kaley Cuoco Just Has 1 Tiny Request for "The Big Bang Theory"'s Series Finale

Kaley Cuoco Just Has 1 Tiny Request for
While it pains me to say this, there are only a few more episodes left until we have to say goodbye to The Big Bang Theory forever. After 12 successful seasons, the CBS sitcom - which is one of the longest-running staples of network TV, by the way - is coming to an end on May 16. I recently got to chat with Kaley Cuoco about what fans can expect from the series finale, and to say I was ecstatic is an understatement. Not only have I been following the gang since Leonard (Johnny Galecki) first laid eyes on Penny (Cuoco) in the hall of their apartment building, but I also feel like I know the cast better than I know my own friends. I've even grown to love Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and caught myself singing "Soft Kitty" to my boyfriend on multiple occasions (don't ask).

The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann: 5 Theories About What Really Happened
It's one of the most distressing cold cases of the past several years: the vanishing of Madeleine McCann, a 3-year-old British girl who disappeared while on vacation with her family in Portugal back in 2007. The case was never solved and has been complicated by mishandled evidence, false leads, and shifting suspicions. As part of the recent resurgence in true-crime documentaries, Netflix has produced a new documentary exploring the case, The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann. The documentary revisits several potential theories about Madeleine's disappearance, including some of the most widespread theories that have circulated in the decade since her disappearance. From the horrifying to the tragically mundane, here are five theories that attempt to explain what really happened on the night Madeleine disappeared.

Us: The Voice Lupita Nyong'o's Evil Character Uses Was Inspired by a Real Person
There are a few things you should know before watching Jordan Peele's latest horror masterpiece, Us: don't see it without a buddy (you'll need someone to help sneak you out of the theater when you inevitably pee your pants out of fear); be prepared to never want to use scissors ever again; and brace yourself for the bone-chilling voice Lupita Nyong'o uses as her evil doppelgänger, named "Red."

Technically, Nyong'o plays two roles in the film: the paranoid but relatively normal suburban wife and mother of two named Adelaide, and Red, the jumpsuit-wearing identical killer who comes after her. When Red crashes Adelaide's beachside vacation with her family, she's not alone - she brings along demonic versions of Adelaide's husband, son, and daughter, too, and explains they're called the "Tethered." Adelaide's family physically looks exactly like their Tethered counterparts, down to the way they creepily mimic their movements. But

Can Someone Please Tell Me What Meghan Markle and Princess Anne Are Always Chatting About?

Can Someone Please Tell Me What Meghan Markle and Princess Anne Are Always Chatting About?
It's been almost a year since Meghan Markle married Prince Harry and became a royal, and from the looks of it, the royal family has welcomed her with open arms. While the Duchess of Sussex has forged relationships with Queen Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Prince Charles, I'm especially intrigued by her friendship with Harry's aunt, Princess Anne. The two are often seen chatting and laughing together during royal engagements, and I'd just love to know what they're always talking about. The weather? Their favorite books? Or maybe Anne is just really curious about Meghan's acting career?

It was actually reported that Meghan told Anne about her pregnancy at Princess Eugenie's wedding back in October 2018. The mom-to-be may be on maternity leave now, but she'll likely make an appearance at Trooping the Colour in June, which means we'll hopefully see more of this blossoming friendship in the months to come.

There's a Pretty Cute Story Behind Luke P.'s Bachelorette Audition

  • Popsugar
Hannah Brown will have no fewer than 33 suitors on The Bachelorette's upcoming season. And the literal dozens of men are a lot to keep track of, especially since ABC hasn't shared the Bachelorette contestants' bios yet. But we do know a little about the handful of lucky contestants who already met Hannah on The Bachelor's live finale, one of whom was Luke P. He told Hannah he'd been hoping she'd be the next Bachelorette star, which was probably a flattering thing for her to hear. Could he be the future Mr. Alabama?

Thanks to a report from Luke's local newspaper, fans know that his full name is Luke Parker and that he's from Gainesville, Ga. Luke has already left Georgia for the show's filming, but his family talked to The Gainesville Times about his journey to being on the show. It sounds like faith is pretty important to the former college baseball player,

The series starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as demon-slaying, monster-hunting brothers Sam and Dean Winchester was the network's longest-running scripted original. Padalecki, Ackles, and fellow star Misha Collins (who plays Castiel) made the unexpected announcement on Friday via an emotional video shared on Twitter.

"We have some big news we wanted y'all to hear from us," a teary-eyed Padelecki said, before Ackles cut in. "Though we're very, very excited about moving into our 15th season, it will be our last. Fifteen years of a show that has certainly changed my life, and I know it's changed these guys' lives . . . though we're excited about next year, it will be the finale. It will be the big, grand finale."

Dan, Jackie, Darlene, and the Rest of The Conners Will Return in Season 2
The Roseanne reboot might have lost its namesake after a rocky scandal involving Roseanne Barr's racist Twitter spree last year, but it seems the spinoff - which rebranded as The Conners - is doing just fine.

On Friday, ABC confirmed that the series has been renewed for a second season, though the episode count for season two has yet to be revealed (Deadline speculates the next season will expand the 11-episode count to 13). The core cast is also expected to return, led by John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, and Michael Fishman. Hopefully some of season one's notable guest stars (Matthew Broderick! Juliette Lewis! Katey Sagal!) will return for more episodes in season two as well.

"We are proud to be continuing the story of the iconic Conners family," ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke said of the renewal. "This team is fearless in their willingness to tackle

Barbra Streisand Clarifies Comments About Michael Jackson's Alleged Child Sex Abuse Victims
Barbra Streisand would like to clarify her stance about Wade Robson and James Safechuck's child sex abuse allegations against the late Michael Jackson, after coming under fire over her comments. The two detail in the recent shocking HBO documentary Leaving Neverland what they describe as years of molestation and grooming by the King of Pop when they were kids. On Friday, The London Times quoted Streisand, 76, as saying that while she "absolutely" believes Jackson's accusers, they were "thrilled to be there," and that the singer's alleged behavior "didn't kill them." "To be crystal clear, there is no situation or circumstance where it is Ok for...

Is It Too Early to Declare Lizzo and Missy Elliott's
"I'm a thick b*tch, I need tempo," Lizzo warns in her latest contagiously confident song, "Tempo." The follow-up to her hugely popular "Juice" also features Missy Elliott in what Lizzo described as a full-circle moment in an emotional Instagram post featuring a selfie of the two artists taken long before they formally decided to collaborate.

Lizzo explained she met Missy two years ago, and was able to show her some of her music. Lizzo said she took the selfie with Missy assuming she wouldn't get a chance to meet her again. "But also . . . deep down inside I knew one day we'd have something even more special than a selfie," Lizzo added. Now, the two have released what we're already declaring one of our favorite songs of the year.

Caldwell. This resulted in Broner being hit with a restraining order. Speaking of hits, he hasn't been landing them well in the ring lately ... he's lost 2 of his last 3 fights, and the other one was a draw.

Retta's Dress at the Parks and Rec Reunion Has Us Ready For Mimosas and Fine Leather Goods

  • Popsugar
Fans of Parks and Recreation have a lot to be grateful for. The NBC series gave us many gifts over its seven-season run, including amazing TV friendships, the empowering Galentine's Day traditions, and, of course, the best day of the year: Treat Yo' Self. And while actress Retta may be tired of people yelling the catchphrase to her on the street, she still has lots of love for it, which she aptly illustrated during the PaleyFest Parks and Rec panel on March 21.

The Good Girls actress walked the blue PaleyFest carpet in a gauzy pink knee-length dress that had "Treat Yo' Self" embroidered all over the skirt. The outfit was not only sweet and fun, but it paid the perfect homage to the iconic holiday that Retta's Donna Meagle and Aziz Ansari's Tom Haverford popularized way back in 2011. As the Parks and Rec Twitter account put it, "It's all in the details!

Who Needs a Book Club When This Incredible Book Service Exists? (Hint: No One)
Despite the fact I've been a major bookworm my entire life, I found myself in a bit of a reading rut as soon as I graduated college. Did I stop reading altogether? Of course not. But once I was done reading a variety of books for my college courses, I realized I was reverting back to the same genre over and over again: thrillers.

Now, don't get me wrong, there is a time and place for a good thriller. Between Paula Hawkins's Into the Water and An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, there was no shortage of suspense-filled page-turners I couldn't put down over the last year. But while any type of reading is surely a good thing, I felt the overwhelming need to broaden my horizons, genre-wise. Enter Book of the Month Club, a company with nearly 100 years of experience - yep, it was founded

How Many Seasons Will Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Be? The Answer Is Kind of Confusing

How Many Seasons Will Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Be? The Answer Is Kind of Confusing
The second part of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina's first season is about to drop on Netflix, but if you're worried about the fate of the supernatural drama in the future, the Dark Lord (at Netflix) has you covered. In December 2018, after the first part of season one aired successfully, Netflix announced a two-part renewal for the series! No word yet as to when production on the next segments of the series will begin, although it's assumed that production will launch sometime later this year.

Netflix's renewal, though, is slightly confusing in its terminology. The renewal announcement is for two more "parts," which technically adds up to one full season (the upcoming "second part" is technically the second half of season one). Looking at the episode count and schedule pattern is probably easier. The first full season is 20 episodes, divided into two "parts" of 10 episodes apiece. The Winter special aired in December,
