Jussie Smollett, the Empire star who was arrested Thursday on a felony charge in the wake of allegedly planning a January attack on himself, went directly to the Fox series’ Chicago set after his bail hearing this afternoon, Deadline has confirmed.

Smollett was released on $100,000 bail and had his passport revoked during the court appearance. His defense lawyers insisted during the hearing that Smollett needed to get back to work on Empire, which was continuing production today.

What he will do there — today, or going forward — remains unclear. Smollett’s upcoming scenes on Empire were reduced or cut amid the investigation, so it’s not clear if he will get back in front of the camera anytime soon. Producer 20th Century Fox TV and Fox Entertainment issued a statement today saying “We understand the seriousness of this matter and we respect the legal process. We are evaluating the situation and we are considering our options.

Peter Tork, bassist, keyboardist and singer for iconic late ’60s pop-rock band The Monkees died on Thursday. He was 77.

Tork’s death was confirmed by his sister, Anne Thorkelson, to The Washington Post. Thorkelson did not share the cause of death or where Tork died. His Twitter and Facebook accounts announced his death shortly after.

“Please know that Peter was extremely appreciative of you, his Torkees, and one of his deepest joys was to be out in front of you, playing his music, and seeing you enjoy what he had to share,” a message attributed to the Peter Tork Facebook Team said.

Chicago Police officials asserted Thursday that actor Jussie Smollett set up a hate crime hoax on Jan. 28 because he was “dissatisfied with his salary” on the Fox series “Empire.”

Police are holding a news conference to discuss the case that has made international headlines amid Smollett’s continued insistence that he was the victim of a vicious attack and he had no involvement in staging the incident. Smollett surrendered to police Thursday morning and will be charged today with filing a false police report.

Are you ready to rock? Because the first trailer for Netflix's Mötley Crüe biopic, The Dirt, has arrived, and the film looks like a wild ride.

The biopic, directed by Jeff Tremaine, is based on the rock band's 2001 autobiography, The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band. Douglas Booth, Iwan Rheon, Colson Baker (aka Machine Gun Kelly), and Daniel Webber star as the core four members of the band - Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Tommy Lee, and Vince Neil - as they go from a mismatched group of misfits playing small rock clubs in Hollywood, to becoming one of the most notorious rock 'n' roll groups in history. Judging from the trailer, watching their rise to international fame will be deeply entertaining.
