‘Sesame Street’ Puppeteer Caroll Spinney Retires From Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch Roles
Caroll Spinney has been a television mainstay since 1969, but his face has rarely made an appearance.

Disguised beneath a frock of bright yellow feathers and an orange bill, the “Sesame Street” puppeteer was the heart and soul behind Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch since the show’s premiere almost 50 years ago.

Now, at the age of 84, Spinney told the New York Times that he is retiring from “Sesame Street” after nearly half a century playing some of the show’s most iconic characters. Come Thursday, Spinney will enter the “Sesame Street” studios in Astoria, Queens for the last time

Roseanne Barr Releases Official Statement on Being Killed Off ‘The Conners,’ Slams ABC for ‘Grim and Morbid’ Decision

Roseanne Barr Releases Official Statement on Being Killed Off ‘The Conners,’ Slams ABC for ‘Grim and Morbid’ Decision
[Warning: If you can’t tell by the headline above, spoilers follow.]

ABC’s “Roseanne” spinoff “The Conners” kicked off its season premiere with confirmation that the character once played by Roseanne Barr had been killed off the series after suffering an opioid overdose from pills she was taking to treat a knee injury. Barr took to her Twitter page for an instant reaction to her character’s fate following the conclusion of the episode, defiantly tweeting, “I Ain’T Dead, Bitches!!!!” The actress then published a longer, more official statement along with her rabbi, Shmuley Boteach.

“While we wish the very best for the cast and production crew of ‘The Conners,’ all of whom are deeply dedicated to their craft and were Roseanne’s cherished colleagues, we regret that ABC chose to cancel Roseanne by killing off the Roseanne Conner character,” Barr and Boteach wrote. “That it was done through an opioid overdose lent an unnecessary grim and morbid dimension to an otherwise happy family show.

Roseanne Barr Is Not Pleased With the "Morbid" Way The Conners Killed Off Her Character

Roseanne Barr Is Not Pleased With the
The Conners premiered its first episode on Tuesday night, finally putting to rest any speculation about how the Roseanne spinoff deals with the absence of Roseanne Barr's titular character.

Barr's initial reboot of the show was of course axed by ABC after a string of vile, racist tweets and abrasive behavior from the 65-year-old, and she revealed during an interview a few weeks before the The Conners premiere that the show planned on killing off Roseanne Conner via opioid overdose. Now that we know that is indeed how the character dies - she overdoses on medication prescribed to her following knee surgery - Barr is speaking out about how disappointed she is with the twist in a joint statement with her Rabbi, Shmuley Boteach.

"While we wish the very best for the cast and production crew of The Conners, all of whom are deeply dedicated to their craft and were Roseanne's cherished colleagues,

13 Books to Read If You Can't Get Enough of Hocus Pocus
Celebrating Halloween without an annual viewing of Hocus Pocus is like trying to get through the entire Fall season without drinking a pumpkin spice latte - it's just not right. The classic 1993 film has everything a good Halloween movie needs: trick-or-treating, killer dance scenes, a talking black cat, and Bette Midler. Face it, the Sanderson sisters are true icons, and they also happen to be a trio of witches we would love to hang out with, despite the whole stealing the souls of children thing. Still, as perfect as Hocus Pocus is, you can only watch the film so many times during October before you start craving something else. But what if you could satisfy your desire for something new while still feeding that nostalgic feeling you get every time you see Binx on your TV screen?

Thanks to these 13 books like Hocus Pocus, you can enjoy the fun, Halloween

Prince Harry Found Meghan Markle's Mini Me in Sydney, So They Took a Super-Rare Selfie
The royals are used to sticking by strict protocol, but every so often they break the rules for a special reason. It's rare for the royal family to go beyond a handshake upon meeting someone, and they usually don't take selfies or give out autographs, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a few exceptions while meeting fans during their tour of Australia.

While greeting the crowd, Harry noticed a young fan wearing a "Girls Can Do Anything" t-shirt and immediately brought her to Meghan's attention. "Can I take a picture of you two together?" he asked. As Harry queued up the camera for a rare selfie, a woman told Meghan they thought the girl "looks a bit like you," to which the duchess replied, "I was literally about to say the same thing!"

This young fan wasn't the only one to break Harry and Meghan from their traditional ways.

How Much Oscar Potential Does A Star Is Born Actually Have? Let's Break It Down
It's a Hollywood tale as old as time: a film generates strong buzz on the festival circuit for months, only to falter when it actually comes time for Oscar nominations. Despite receiving standing ovations at festivals like Tiff (2016's The Birth of a Nation) or earning praise for dramatic performances (2017's Stronger), some films just can't leap all the necessary hurdles required to make it into the race for an Oscar. Will the same happen to A Star Is Born?

Bradley Cooper's long-gestating project premiered on Oct. 4 to rave reviews for both his and costar Lady Gaga's performances, as well as the film's undeniably strong soundtrack. In fact, The Hollywood Reporter recently shared that at the official Academy screening of the movie for La-based members, so many people showed up that some had to be turned away at the door. The Academy members who did see it reportedly

Consider This Wishful Thinking, but What If Nicky Is Actually Still Alive on This Is Us?

Consider This Wishful Thinking, but What If Nicky Is Actually Still Alive on This Is Us?
This Is Us has been full of crazy twists over the past three seasons, but one of the biggest curveballs was that Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) actually has a younger brother named Nicky (Michael Angarano). In the latest episode, "Vietnam," we got a closer look at the Pearson boys' bond, and the whole thing is incredibly bittersweet. Just like with Jack's storyline, we're slowly falling in love with a character that is no longer alive in present day. While Jack tells Rebecca that his younger brother died in the war, what if the show is actually setting us up for another shocking twist?

Consider this wishful thinking, but maybe Nicky is still alive. Since episode four aired, a few theories have been circulating about the fate of the younger Pearson brother, and they're pretty convincing. Perhaps when Jack says Nicky died, he means that the brother he knew died, and the war ultimately changed him.

Riverdale: Archie and the Gang Transform Into Their Parents in the Retro Flashback Episode
Things are about to get very interesting on Riverdale! This season, the younger cast will be playing their parents in the highly anticipated flashback episode, and the photos are blowing our minds.

While Kj Apa and Cole Sprouse are dead-ringers for their onscreen dads, Luke Perry and Skeet Ulrich, we completely lost it when we saw Lili Reinhart as a young Mädchen Amick. While Alice Cooper is usually pretty reserved in present day, it looks like we'll be seeing a whole new wild side of her in the flashback. "Young Alice is so different from the Alice that you see today," Reinhart told Entertainment Weekly. "She's not just this uptight, precocious, looks-down-upon-everyone teen - like she was a Serpent. So that gives her young personality a lot."

The episode, which will focus on the Gargoyle King mystery, will also include an appearance from Mark Consuelos's real-life son Michael. The

Halloween Doesn't Have a Postcredits Scene, but There Is Something Lurking at the Very End

Halloween Doesn't Have a Postcredits Scene, but There Is Something Lurking at the Very End
The latest entry into the Halloween franchise is gory, clever, and surprisingly funny, with plenty of nods to the original. The 2018 edition of the classic horror tale sees Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) older, but perhaps not altogether wiser, having devoted the entirety of her life to preparing for the one day she eventually faces down the serial killer who destroyed her childhood: Michael Myers. One glimpse of the trailer should be enough to clue you in on the fact that yes, Michael escapes the psychiatric asylum where he's been held and goes on yet another bloody rampage through Haddonfield - with disastrous results.

Once the heads have stopped rolling, however, should you stick around for a postcredits scene? Fortunately for you, I sat through the lengthy list of credits to find out if some bonus footage was lurking at the end, much like a butcher knife-wielding, bloodthirsty lunatic. The short answer is: no!
