Glenn Close Has an Incredible (an Highly Unusual) Oscar History
When Glenn Close's name was read off the list of best actress nominees during the Oscar nominations announcement Tuesday morning, it came as no surprise. Her exceptional performance as the elegant, emotionally complex wife of a renowned writer in The Wife has made her a widely considered front runner for months. Close is one of those actresses who effortlessly disappears into any role - and she's been rewarded for it. Over the years, Close has racked up seven Oscar nominations (including this year's). But it might surprise you to learn that the actress has never actually won a single Oscar; in fact, she has the most nominations without a win of any living actor.

Close's first Oscar nomination came in 1982, when she was nominated for best supporting actor for the Robin Williams dramedy The World According to Garp. That year, she lost to Jessica Lange from Tootsie. Close's 1982 nomination

It's Basically Impossible to Spot This Inside Joke Lurking in M. Night Shyamalan's Glass

It's Basically Impossible to Spot This Inside Joke Lurking in M. Night Shyamalan's Glass
Director M. Night Shyamalan has finally finished his Eastrail 177 Trilogy - which consists of Unbreakable, Split, and, now, Glass - wrapping up the stories of superhumans David Dunn (Bruce Willis), Mr. Glass (Samuel L. Jackson), and Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy). The latter suffers from dissociative identity disorder, with 24 individual personalities living within his psyche, making McAvoy's performance nothing short of astounding.

While sitting down with Fandango, the director explained how one of Kevin's many personalities, a Southern man identified as "Luke," is actually a nod to the film's real-life editor, Luke Ciarrocchi. Apparently Ciarrocchi has a notorious habit of spoiling the ends of films for his friends, which is why Shyamalan has McAvoy-as-Luke say in Glass, "Everybody knows the priest dies at the end of The Exorcist."

The Sopranos Prequel Movie Has Found Its Tony: James Gandolfini's Look-Alike Son

The Sopranos Prequel Movie Has Found Its Tony: James Gandolfini's Look-Alike Son
David Chase has found a solution to the nearly impossible task of recasting Tony Soprano. For the forthcoming Sopranos prequel film, The Many Saints of Newark, the series creator has cast James Gandolfini's real-life son Michael Gandolfini to play a younger version of the future crime boss. While the iconic character will appear in the film, it will mostly center around the 1967 Newark Riots that occurred in his youth.

According to Deadline, Chase and the film's director Alan Taylor held an exhaustive audition process before landing on Ganfoldini, whose mannerisms and physicality closely resemble that of his late father. Though Gandolfini is still at the start of his acting career, he has a few credits to his name and most notably portrayed Joey Dwyer in the second season of The Deuce.

The news comes right after the Sopranos cast reunited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series premiere.

Written and directed by Korine, The Beach Bum is the indie director's first film since 2012's Spring Breakers and follows the outrageous adventures of a poetic burnout as he writes "the next great American novel," and possibly has a gangbang in celebration.
