Everything Will Smith Has Said So Far About Playing Aladdin's Iconic Genie
When the full teaser trailer for the live-action reboot of Aladdin made its surprise debut, the one thing that had everyone talking was Will Smith's first appearance as the Genie. Fans have been curious how the big, blue cartoon character would be translated to a live-action format, and while Smith's appearance met with some mixed reactions, Smith himself has talked at length about his feelings on taking on the responsibility of this legendary character.

The original Genie, as voiced by the inimitable Robin Williams, became an instant pop culture icon that has endured over the past two decades. It's an "often replicated, never duplicated" performance that could easily overshadow Smith's take on the character. But he wasn't fazed; instead, he told Entertainment Weekly that he took inspiration from Williams's methods, but not his literal performance.

"After I watched the movie a few times, I saw where Robin Williams infused

A docuseries about Adnan Syed, whose story rose to fame through the Serial podcast, is coming to HBO. The Case Against Adnan Syed is directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Amy Berg and will trace "how the rush to justice and Syed's conviction in 2000 raised more questions than answers about what happened to Hae Min Lee, underscoring the instability of memory and conflicting eyewitnesses," Entertainment Weekly first reported.

The Serial podcast rose to popularity beginning in 2015 by reexamining Syed's Baltimore murder case, which was closed. The Very Intense Way The Masked Singer Contestants Keep Their Identities a Secret
All but three of the celebrities competing on The Masked Singer have been unveiled so far, which begs the question: how has the Fox reality show managed to keep the identities of the competitors a secret all this time? In an age of social media leaks, sneaky cell phone photos, and even audience members with big mouths, it's shocking that the network hasn't experienced a premature reveal yet.

While The Masked Singer hasn't gone to the lengths Game of Thrones has quite yet - self-destructing scripts are a bit much, no? - the singing competition is still on high alert, and has a set of rules to make sure the stars who perform on stage under those outlandish costumes stay anonymous.

"We take no chances and assume everyone is a spy," host Nick Cannon said in a recently released video detailing the show's "costume and security protocol." He goes on

The second season of Netflix's hit series The Crown shed lots of light on Queen Elizabeth II's hapless younger sister, Princess Margaret. From her dramatic love life and nude photo scandal to her penchant for drinking and smoking, it's been made abundantly clear what most royal family aficionados knew all along: Margaret was never meant to blend in. She was always going to stand out.

Margaret was everything you'd expect a spare heir to be; much like Prince Harry and Princess Charlotte after her, she was irresistibly charming, attention-seeking, extroverted, and much more rebellious than her older sister - after all, if you don't bear the direct responsibility of one day taking the throne, you have less pressure put on you to be perfect. Margaret was only 22 when her sister became queen, and while her duties mostly consisted of representing the family on royal tours of Jamaica,

When Oscar nominations were announced in January, one of the more controversial films of the year was heavily represented. Green Book, the feel-good drama about a black pianist and his white driver in the 1960s deep South, received several major nominations, including nods for stars Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali, as well as a best picture nom.

While the story of interracial friendship in the civil rights era might seem like a typical movie, Green Book has been dogged by controversy since its release. Below, we're breaking down why the award season favorite is not such a favorite in many circles.

(Not) Based on a True Story

Green Book claims to be based heavily on a true story. Cowriter Nick Vallelonga's father, Tony "Lip" Vallelonga, was the white driver (played by Mortensen) who was assigned to escort concert pianist Dr. Don Shirley through his tour in the South,
