She will assist with the distributing of trophies during the 2019 Golden Globe Awards ceremony and work with a nonprofit organization to raise awareness for the cause of her choosing.

“I feel honored to hold this title and use this role to not only further educate people on the work of the HFPA, but also shine a light on issues that I care about,” said Elba.

“Mental health, specifically among African Americans and my peers in particular, is something I really want to be more vocal about,” added Isan Elba. “There’s this perceived stigma and I’ve seen friends struggle. We need to empower young people to not be afraid to ask for help.”

Jim Carrey Slams Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg in New Scathing Cartoon: ‘We Saw What You Did’
Jim Carrey is criticizing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg yet again.

The actor, 56, posted his latest critical cartoon shortly after the New York Times published a new report on Wednesday about how Facebook has handled a variety of recent scandals, including a claim that the company knew about Russian interference in the presidential election by the spring of 2016, but did not immediately begin investigating.

Facebook has denied this allegation, as well as a variety of others made in the report.

In the new cartoon, Carrey appears to have drawn himself looking red-faced and angry, and not Zuckerberg

“Hey #Zuckerborg. We know who you are.

The Poster For the A Child's Play Remake Contains Some Horrifying Clues About the New Chucky
Everyone's favorite homicidal doll is ready for a play date! Thirty years after the release of Tom Holland's Child's Play in 1988, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer has fast-tracked a remake. According to The Hollywood Reporter, MGM has tapped Polaroid filmmaker Lars Klevberg to direct the horror reboot with video game writer Tyler Burton Smith on board to handle the script.

Child's Play was the first of a seven-movie franchise that told the story of Chucky, a toy doll possessed by the soul of a serial killer. If you've seen the film, you no doubt remember the chills that shot down your spine when he first uttered his iconic phrase, "Hi, I'm Chucky. Wanna play?" Chucky then goes on a murderous rampage in an attempt to kill a single mom and her son so he can jump into the son's body before he becomes trapped inside the doll permanently. Obviously he fails, and the movies

Dwayne Johnson Plays a Hilarious Version of Himself in Wrestling Movie Fighting with My Family
Dwayne Johnson isn’t above poking a little fun at himself.

The actor and former wrestler, 46, plays a heightened version of himself in Fighting with My Family — a heartwarming and hilarious tale about a young girl who dreams of being a world-famous wrestler.

And while he’s not the main star — Florence Pugh’s hard-around-the-edges Paige carries the movie — the actor makes several appearances in the trailer to give advice to the young star.

Though Johnson first hilariously berates Paige and her brother Zak (Dunkirk‘s Jack Lowden) for running into him in the halls, he’s later seen giving

The Sweet Story Behind the Rebecca's Demo Song "Invisible Ink" on This Is Us

The Sweet Story Behind the Rebecca's Demo Song
This Is Us is filled with beautiful music, but some of our favorite songs are the ones sung by the actual cast. During the episode "Sometimes," we get a better glimpse of how Jack and Rebecca's love story began. After taking a road trip to Los Angeles together, the two share a heartfelt moment as Rebecca (Mandy Moore) sings her demo in the car, and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) breaks down in tears as he recounts his time in Vietnam. The song, "Invisible Ink," seems to go perfectly with the scene, and for a good reason. The track was actually written especially for the show.

In fact, it actually has a personal connection to Moore as it was written by the actress's fiancé Taylor Goldsmith and This Is Us composer Siddhartha Khosla. Khosla knew he would be creating a Joni Mitchell-esque song for Moore to sing on the show, and

How Mariah Carey's Glitter Album Finally Topped the iTunes Chart

How Mariah Carey's Glitter Album Finally Topped the iTunes Chart
Justice for Glitter has finally been served.  It was nearly two decades ago that Mariah Carey's ill-fated film, Glitter, and accompanying album of the same name were released. As the story goes, the musical drama was a big flop, tanking at the box office and panned by critics. It was a difficult time for the star personally as she had been hospitalized for what was a described as a "physical and emotional breakdown" two months earlier. It was also a tragic time in the United States, as the film came out shortly after the September 11th terrorist attacks.  In regard to the album, it was Carey's least commercially successful one at the time and peaked at number seven on the...

Kelsea Ballerini Knew She Wouldn't Win a 2018 Cma Award:
Award shows can be stressful for any nominee. However, Kelsea Ballerini didn't let her Female Vocalist of the Year nomination take hold of her nerves at the 2018 Cma Awards. Why? She just knew it wasn't her year. "I'm really practical with award shows. I really am, and it's not my year, which is great," she told E! News while walking the red carpet in Nashville before the show. "It's great to know that going into it. Then you don't have to worry about, like, having like a weird face or like—I know I'm not winning this year." Carrie Underwood, who also hosted the show with Brad Paisley, ended up taking home the prize in that category. However, Ballerini did take the...

Mark Your Calendars: Game of Thrones Season 8 Will Premiere in April 2019
We've been pulling our hair out for months trying to guess when the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones would finally drop. Although Maisie Williams (our resident Arya Stark) gave an interview earlier in 2018 to UK-based paper Metro and revealed the month in which the first episode would appear - April 2019 - she later retracted her quotes in a tweet. "Just a tweet letting you know this Game of Thrones release date 'quote' I've supposedly given is completely false and taken from an interview I did years ago."

HBO didn't respond to the rumor at the time, but luckily we now have official confirmation of the premiere date courtesy of the Game of Thrones Twitter account: it is April 2019!

Jennifer Aniston Is an Unforgiving Pageant Mom in the Trailer For Netflix's Dumplin'

Jennifer Aniston Is an Unforgiving Pageant Mom in the Trailer For Netflix's Dumplin'
It's not often that Jennifer Aniston takes on a role that makes us kind of hate her a little bit, but Dumplin' seems to be her chance to change that.

The Office Christmas Party actress stars in the upcoming Netflix dramedy, based on the New York Times bestselling book by Julie Murphy, which follows an outspoken, curvy, Dolly Parton-obsessed teenager named Willowdean (Danielle Macdonald) as she navigates life under the rule of her overbearing pageant queen mother (Aniston) in small town Texas. In an act of protest against her mother's never-ending stream of pageants and disapproval, Will decides to enter her mother's local Miss Teen Blue Bonnet competition, which in turn encourages other contestants in town to do the same. Macdonald's comedic timing as she delivers lines like "I'm not the Joan of Arc of fat girls" already has us hooked.

The screenplay for Dumplin' was adapted by Kristin Hahn,
