Robert Gourley is an Emmy Award-winning director, cinematographer and editor who particularly enjoys telling stories about how people interact with the environment.
While attending the University of North Carolina, he developed a foundation in visual storytelling through photojournalism and making documentary films. His work is inspired by immersive storytelling and cinema verité.
He was formerly a staff video journalist at the Los Angeles Times and has moved on to freelance projects for film and television. He has been recognized by the Hearst Journalism Awards and the Los Angeles Press Club, and his work has been featured by HBO Max, PBS, CuriosityStream and NOVA.
