James Holub
- Actor
I'm a 36 year-old father, teacher, and voice actor from Plano, TX who loves video games, his wife and kids, and voice acting, not necessarily in that order.
I grew up in literally -and I do mean literally- The Most Average City in the US* the eldest of six children so you probably wouldn't figure the greatest up-and-coming voice talent in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area would come from such humble beginnings. However, ever since I was a wee lad I knew I was a performer. If I wasn't using my thumb-mic to sing to the audience in my mirror, or using my announcer voice to embarrass my mother on her 30th birthday at an upscale Hibachi restaurant, I was dreaming of being in cartoons. Literally -again- I had a dream once where Bebop and Rocksteady kidnapped my parents and I turned into Michaelangelo and went to save them. This dream inspired me to become a ninja cop as a grown-up. That didn't pan out, but I figure voice-acting might get me close.
I've been talking all my life, or most of it at least (sometimes too much if you ask my wife), and I've been acting quite a while, too. I made movies as a kid; stop-motion action figures and towel-caped superhero-typed stuff long before there ever was a YouTube and my aspirations went as far as America's Funniest Home Videos. Since then, I was in theater and choir in high school, and became a teacher not in small part so that I'd have an actually captive audience on a daily basis (but let's not forget summer vacay, y'all).
I began my professional career as a voice actor when I did some walla work for a friend who happened to be a director at Funimation Studios (sorry, not sorry). But even after he left Funimation to pursue other things, I was asked back multiple times to do work for shows like D-Frag! (Tenjin) and One Piece (Gentleman-Hippo).
I can do commercials, cartoons, voicemail, accents, sexy, comedy, tragedy, and of course, walla. I'd love to be the voice you need. Chat with my AI until I notice my phone, or send me an email.
