José Villaman

Jose Villaman is a Production Sound Mixer and Post-Production Sound Designer based out of the New Jersey/New York Area. Started his interest in the audio world at around 14 recording friends' rock bands and producing music for Hip Hop artists; self- taught the use of DAW's and music production.
After High School, dove straight into the field and studied at SAE New York (2010), where he acquired certification in Audio Engineering. From there he went on to get an internship at Electric Lady Studios in the West Village, where he got hired as an Assistant and worked for 3 years with many musicians, producers, and engineers during the process of Recording or Mixing records.
Eventually, he became interested in Sound for Picture, and pursued studying at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television in San Antonio de los Banos, Cuba (2014-2017). Spent three years in Cuba perfecting his skill and was part of many short film productions and documentaries where he supervised and executed the sound process from ideas to the final mix. Some of the short films went on to compete in film festivals around the world.
Graduated in the specialty of Sound in 2017 and returned to New York to put his craft to practice.
