Arturo Javier Mireles is a combat infantryman who served with the 10th Mountain Light infantry Division in support of the Afghan Elections in 2014 and can be seen fighting Taliban in the docu-series "The Fighting Season" (Ricky Shroeder, 2015). After spreading democracy he attended the College of Arts and Media at the University of Colorado Denver for Film and Television and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also studied Anthropology and Communications as a minor degree focus and uses this insight to make mindful documentaries. He has written and directed two shorts Simple Solution (2017) and Blackout (2019) as well is a Director/Shooter/Producer to numerous documentaries since 2018. For his internship, Arturo worked on a number of episodes with Dr. Marty Otañez on his web-series "Getting High on Anthropology" at 3 different studios in Denver, Colorado. Arturo Mireles has written 3 feature length screenplays that he intends to direct and is currently writing 3 more for spec. His work on "El Soldado de Marbach" is listed at the top 3% of Coverfly and is the top 50 Feature Action screenplays in 2021.
Arturo plans on enrolling to the Michener Center for Writers to earn his MFA in Screenwriting from the University of Texas in Austin as well as produce and direct his films "El Camaroncito: The Devil's Dance".
Arturo is a member of the San Antonio Film Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and holds a collaborator's desk at Alamo City Studios.
