Kyle Acosta
Kyle Acosta is an American independent filmmaker, screenwriter, novelist, actor, and theater director known for his distinctive storytelling, blending raw intensity with existential and philosophical themes.

Acosta made his directing debut in 2009 with Assassin and later gained recognition for directing and writing films such as Children's Games (2016), Rightways Down (2017), and The Duke (2022).

Rightways Down was met with controversy due to its extremely gritty and violent content, earning it an X rating upon its theatrical release. Despite or perhaps because of its brutal honesty, the film gained a cult following. The Duke similarly pushed boundaries, using religious and esoteric allegories painted against its dark, and violent backdrop, further establishing Acosta as a director unafraid to explore difficult and provocative themes.

Beyond filmmaking, Acosta is also a dedicated screenwriter and playwright, bringing his intricate storytelling to the written page. His works often explore the same existential and philosophical depth found in his films, crafting narratives that challenge perceptions and push the boundaries of genre.

Additionally, he has an extensive theater background, having directed three productions for the Denair Gaslight Theater: Cheaper by the Dozen,(2005) Arsenic and Old Lace (2006) and The Sound of Music (2007) His experience in both stage and screen continues to shape his approach to storytelling.

His work remains defined by a fearless exploration of existential questions, moral ambiguity, and the complexities of human nature.
