Helen Parker is an Australian screenwriter and producer based in Canada. She was raised within the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park. Her father, an Australian naval officer, maintained a lifelong friendship with actor Douglas Fairbanks Jr. . They served together under the British Navy command. Her paternal grandmother Saide Parker M.B.E. was the Marketing Manager for MGM Pacific Region. In 2015 Helen relocated permanently to Canada to further her screenwriting ambitions. She was Consulting Producer of feature film documentary "Ice Breaker" (cinema release, SportsNet, Rockie Award finalist), a spin off TV short features her exclusive footage shot in Moscow in 2017. Helen is Executive Producer and creator of a family drama series licensed and in development, two animated kids series and a feature film. Helen's background in Australian media as a television producer, award winning journalist working for networks 9,7 and Newscorp/FOX provided scores of extraordinary experiences which have helped inspire her original screenplays. She was a Walkley Award nominee and later judge (Australia). Her career has taken her to peace-keeping zones with the Australian military, tea with the British Royal family, Moscow with the legends of The Summit Series and on special assignments with Qantas, Red Bull Extreme Sports and F1 Racing teams. She's chased down murderers, interviewed three Prime Ministers and filmed in prisons. She studied Law at Sydney University and is a graduate of North Sydney's Film & TV School. She is married to Canadian rock musician and author Carl Dixon .
