Joseph Siprut is best known for playing the primary antagonist in Crypto, opposite Kurt Russell, Alexis Bledel, Chris Hemsworth, and Beau Knapp. Prior to that he played a villain in the Ron Perlman vehicle Asher, which also starred Richard Dreyfuss and Jacqueline Bisset. He also appeared as The Undertaker in the festival favorite To Dust, starring Matthew Broderick and Géza Röhrig, which won the Audience Award at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Siprut has extensive martial arts and stunt training, and does his own stunts. He competes in freestyle and greco-roman wrestling, and in 2018, finished second in the US Open for greco-roman wrestling in the Masters division. He also has ballroom dance training.
Siprut is also a lawyer, and graduated from Northwestern University School of Law in 2003. He was named to America's Top 100 Attorneys, was named one of the "Top 100" in the country by the National Trial Lawyers Association, and was also included in the LawDragon 500 listing of the top attorneys in the country, across all practice areas. Siprut previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University School of Law in the Trial Advocacy program. He is also a frequent author and speaker, having published over 25 articles in the nation's leading law reviews and legal journals.
