David Minac was born in Hainburg an der Donau Austria. He graduated from the University of Southampton (Psychology, Film). Since 2014 he has worked for the company W.I.P. in the position of writer, producer, director and production manager, head of development. His main subject is screenwriting. He co-wrote the award winning Through the Eyes of the Photographer. He co-writes two major full-length feature films screenplays Never Give Up (road movie about filming two days in Rome in 1989 with Federico Fellini, The Last Train from Prague (about the rescue operation of Sir Nicholas Winton from 1939), screenplay for TV horror series and full length feature comedy fairy-tale with western setting "Just a bit of luck". He also was the first assistant director of Through the Eyes of the Photographer (official selection of Karlovy Vary Film Festival, Haifa International Film Festival, received two main awards at the Warsaw Jewish Film Festival, Golden Remi Award at 49th Annual International film festival - Worldfest Houston, USA, nominated for Tobias Spencer Award, Haifa Int'l Film Festival - Israel, nominated for Magnolia Award, 23rd Shanghai TV Festival). He acted as a refugee boy and was head of research and assistant director in Nicky's Family which was awarded 41 prestigious awards worldwide including Best Documentary on Montreal International Film Festival. The film has been in the theatrical distribution in the USA, Australia, France, Czech and Slovak Republics. The film was also shown on major TV stations like BBC, ARD, RTBF, Planete Plus, RAI. Minac is also well-known as an art photographer having two major exhibitions in Prague in 2016 and 2017. He also devotes his time to composing film music.
