Rubi Balasingam is an actress and screenwriter based in Melbourne, Australia and is of Sri Lankan Tamil decent.
Rubi has acted in theatre from a young age, and during her education, honed in her skills as both a screenwriter and performer. After graduating, Rubi has worked on local Australian work, such as Lions and Tigers (2016), Jack Irish Season 2 (2018) and I am Kannagi (2019) to name a few.
Rubi is fluent in English and Tamil, is a trained ballet dancer and is a black sash in Wing Chun Kung Fu (under Sifu Bruce Corles, in the lineage of Ip Man) as well as being trained in Sanda (Chinese kickboxing).
