Full Length Bio:
Jonathon has always been a writer. Since a some-what, don't quite know the specific, date, he's been cultivating his creativity through watching too much cinema and reading a fair deal of historical fiction. Jonathon's first venture into filmmaking was at the age of 17. It involved red food-dye, lots of dead tree branches, a flailing young actress, a smoke machine and too sharp of an axe. He has indulged in the craft ever since.
In the summer of 2013, he moved to London to pursue a career in film directing; being accepted into London Metropolitan University (CASS College of Art) to study Film & Broadcast Production.
His micro-short film, "Misplaced" was accepted into the British Film Institute's 2016 Future Film Festival. It has also been played in Top Shorts International Film Festival, Ozark Shorts, Startfest, Exposure Short Film Festival and more.
"Strings & Mortar" is the latest short film written and directed by Jonathon Bowers awaiting its international festival release. Jonathon can also work as a producer, script supervisor and script editor. Other shorts that he has been heavily involved in are "Stay Still" (2015), "Salsa" (2016) and "Ice Tulips (2016)".
Having graduated in July 2016 with a First Class Honours (Bachelor of Honours in Film & Broadcast Production) he is in the process of distributing "Strings & Mortar" whilst working on further projects; a short film, a directorial debut feature and a graphic novel series entitled "Drummer Boys".
