Henrik Friis de Magalhães e Meneses is the Founder of HF Productions, a global network of film festivals operating in 16 countries. Henrik served as CEO from 2015-2022 where he and his team have primarily focused on establishing an international slate of projects that centered on creating educational value and opportunities for independent filmmakers. Henrik sat on the Jury panel for the United Nations SDG's In Action Film Festival in New York from 2019-2021 and is a former TEDx speaker. He is the founder of several international film festivals worldwide including the Arctic Film Festival, Oslo Film Festival and Santorini Film Festival.
In 2020, he served as the fund-raising-producer of the SXSW winner "Beautiful Something Left Behind" a feature documentary on child bereavement, in partnership with Good Company Pictures, Good Grief Center of New Jersey, and Women Making Movies. The mission for this project is to inform on the conversation and provide educational value to the study and examination of children's developmental health in relation to grief and loss. He also Co-Executive produced "Women of the Gulag", which was shortlisted for an Academy Award at the 91st Oscars.
Henrik is mostly known for documenting the war against ISIS in Iraq from 2015-2016. His footage from the front-lines reached more than 1 million viewers and resulted in his award-winning documentary, #UnitedWeWin.
As of 2023, Henrik is leading the secretariat at the UN Business Arena in Oslo.
