Félix Éboué(1884-1944)
Public administrator in the French colonies, he bettered the conditions of the people in his regions. He became the first major Colonial French administrator to support Charles de Gaulle after his 18 June 1940 speech. He was thus a driving force in general Philippe Leclerc's actions in Africa. For this, he was one of the first 5 persons named in 1941 to the Ordre de La Libération. He is the only black Frenchman interred in the Panthéon.
