Heather Wilde (born November 20, 1976) is an American speaker, author, and entrepreneur who is known for her expertise in corporate growth, distributed teams, community engagement, and innovation. She is known as the "Unicorn Whisperer" because of status as an early employee at Evernote, and her continued work advising unicorn-growth companies.
After attending the University of Alabama, Huntsville for Astronautical Engineering, she continued on to St. John's College, Annapolis and attained a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. She then pursued advanced studies in Medieval Literature from Clare College at Cambridge University, which she applied to her early work as a community engineer for the boutique game studio Genetic Anomalies, a division of THQ.
As the co-founder of the AntarctiConf Technical conference, she has given talks on all seven continents.
Her sister is Jenn Rafael, wife to ESPN Boxing Correspondent Dan Rafael.
Heather has received commendations for her work from the United States Government, as well as Awards for Mentor/Coach of the Year, Female Executive of the year, Business Role Model of the year, Entrepreneur of the Year and CIO of the Year and been named Top Writer on Quora 3 years in a row. Among her other awards, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid selected her for a commendation for her work in increasing STEM education in schools.
Wilde's writing and speaking spans social media, entrepreneurialism, startups, leadership, cybersecurity, customer experience, fundraising, and diversity issues. She writes for Forbes and hosts the "Entrepreneurial Revolution" column for Inc Magazine.
She lives in Las Vegas, NV.
