Jesse Bleekemolen

Jesse Bleekemolen (1997) Following a work placement at production company Eyeworks, Jesse Bleekemolen decided to make his first solo feature film when he was only fifteen years old. The film, Fatal, is about the problems that a man in his twenties encounters when he becomes the victim of senseless violence. Most of Jesse's crew and cast members worked for free and the light and sound equipment was almost entirely sponsored. Fatal had its world premiere in November 2016 at the Amsterdam Royal Theater Tuschinski and was shown in dozens of cinemas. Distribution rights were sold to seventy countries and a successful school project - in order to address the issue of senseless violence - followed.

Since then, Jesse has developed several film and television productions as a director. By the end of 2020, the release of his Videoland film Leef received a lot of attention. In this film, athlete Bibian Mentel frankly shows how she refuses to let cancer determine her life, even after countless operations and radiation treatments. As second unit director Jesse has worked a lot with Gooische Vrouwen director Will Koopman in recent years. He assisted her on the set of the hit series Oogappels and the successful cinema film April, May and June, among others.

Meanwhile, he and director Will Koopman are developing new drama productions for the Dutch fiction division of producer ITV. He is also working on his second feature film. He was one of the twenty people asked for the official anniversary book Theater Tuschinski 100 jaar, released by cinema operator Pathé. In the 2022-2023 season, Bleekemolen will hit the theaters with the show Young Famous, in which he speaks to young talents about their careers and their passions.

Jesse is currently working on a 2Doc for the Dutch public broadcaster KRO - NCRV and in April 2022 he will release a documentary about gigolos for Videoland.
