Shams Abou El Enein is a Swiss filmmaker who started at a very young age to attend a local monthly film contest where he was the youngest director, and won several times, in particular best film of the year in 2011. In 2012 he started film studies at S.A.E. Institute Geneva where he learned during two years the fundamentals of professional film making. At the beginning of 2014, his short movie "Emerentia" ended up as one of the sixth best films out of a category of 287 in the "Bloody Cuts Horror Film Contest", an international competition of short horror films. In summer 2015 he directed a second short film, "Semedee", heavily reeling on visual effects, which has been released at the beginning of 2019. Shams moved to Vancouver during the end of the year 2014, to perfect his skills in film making at Vancouver Film School, where he directed his final short film: "Mechanics Of Life".
He is now back in Switzerland where he works as full time director making commercials for worldwide brands like "Nestle", "Cailler", "Caprice des Dieux", "Honda", etc...
In June 2019 he shot a new passion project, "Samos - The Faces Of Our Border" a documentary about the refugee crisis at the frontier of Europe.
